For the past four years I have been living in a Spanish-speaking country for at least 4 months of the year. In 2015 & 2014 I have been in Alicante, Spain. In 2013 I was in Panama City, Panama and in 2012 I lived in Granada, Nicaragua.  This blog is about my observations of the different countries and cultures, and about my journey toward becoming more fluent in Spanish.

I work my travel placement business in Boston virtually from overseas. The internet is fairly reliable and I am able to use it for phone conversations as well as email.   I also work as a trainer for Dale Carnegie when I am in the US.

I live both in Boston and Atlanta (where all my family is). I have a background in travel and teaching, and I am a certified ESL instructor. My end goal is to combine those skills with the language and be able to live and work overseas part of each year.

I am writing this blog to keep in touch with family and friends, and to provide anyone who is considering doing something similar with a genuine view of what it is like to leave what you know and adventure into the unknown. I hope the posts provide an accurate look at Nicaragua, Panama, Spain, learning Spanish, and how I experience it both physically and emotionally.
